HOMER CITY, Pa. --
An Indiana County couple is jailed on charges they pretended to be undercover police officers to fool a 92-year-old man into paying them $7,000 in what he believed were fines.
State troopers from the Indiana barracks said the victim lived in Homer City.
Investigators said 31-year-old Jacquelynn Forsythe and 27-year-old Christopher Dobies stayed with the elderly man. Forsythe allegedly met the man at church when he offered to help her out of a financial mess five years ago.
Police said the couple ran up a drug debt and conspired to pay it by tricking the man into believing he committed, or was suspected of, crimes. They claimed to be undercover police who could pay the fines with money he gave them, police said.
The Associated Press reported that Dobies' attorney didn't return a call Friday and Forsythe doesn't have one yet.
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. --
Everyone forgets their keys now and then, but police said one man managed to do so at a most inopportune time: while he was burglarizing a hair salon.
According to the Tribune-Democrat, Johnstown police said 27-year-old Charles Nash Gray Jr. left the keys to his public housing apartment behind during the burglary at Cuts and Stuff, a hair and beauty salon, on Jan. 18.
Police said Gray stole more than $600 in cash and checks during the break-in.
An employee found the keys and police took them to Gray's apartment, where he was arrested.
Gray remains in the Cambria County Jail and will stand trial on burglary, theft and other charges after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing on Thursday.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. --
The victim of a Johnstown shooting incident earlier in January has now been charged himself.
Jeramey Johnson was shot along Highland Avenue in the city's Moxham neighborhood, but police said during his ambulance trip to the hospital, officials found a large plastic back of crack cocaine in his pants pocket.
Johnson faces drug charges, and the suspect accused of shooting him was arrested earlier this week.
